Are you a cross-country fan? Then profit from the optimal location of our farm right on the slope. A 140km extensive and perfectly prepared cross-country trail network leads to the Walchsee and connects the Kaiserwinkl towns Schwendt, Kössen, Rettenschöss and Walchsee. A special and also snow sure highlight is provided by the 4km long high-altitude trail on the Aschinger Alm. Use of the cross-country trails is free of charge, meaning there are no limits to the joy of this healthy sport.

Big and little, young and old: Tobogganing simply belongs on a winter holiday in Walchsee! This is why: Hop on the toboggan and into adventure, which in this case also starts right from the Rothenhof. The chair lift takes you quickly and comfortably with the toboggan to the top and with lots of “woohoos”, you go back into the valley on the 3km long natural toboggan run! The Aschinger Alm is the starting point of another superbly maintained toboggan run.

After tobogganing you can enjoy a hot mulled wine, cold drinks and small dishes in our winter lodge. Make yourself comfortable, step into the lodge and experience fun and entertainment.

Would you like to get to know the scenery and area of your winter holiday region? Do you want to discover fauna and flora in the nature? Then go on a winter hike or a snow shoe hike.

Around 80 km of well-cleared winter hiking trails can be found in the region around Walchsee. Here, you can enjoy a leisurely stroll or Nordic walking or even jogging.
But you can also hike across meadows and on alpine pasture - for this you can use snow shoes to get through the powder snow. Should you have never tried this sport before, you can simply take part in a guided hike . Along the way, you will learn the correct technique for effortless walking with the snow shoes. Try it out - fun for the whole family!

Fragrant alpine meadows, cosy snack stops, the picturesque Walchsee - all of this is embedded in the dreamlike mountain panorama of the Kaiser mountains, which is one of the most beautiful hiking regions in Austria. A 200km large hiking trail network delights leisurely hikers, families, mountain climbers and nature lovers alike. Those who want to, can follow a guided hike, book an experienced mountain guide and can be safely taken accompanied to the highest peaks. And those wanting to go easy on their muscles can take the summer cable car easily and comfortably to lofty heights. A particularly beautiful family hike leads to the Lippenalm, from which you can enjoy a dreamlike view of the Walchsee. If you want more hiking tips, you can certainly ask the “senior” Peter, who is a mountaineering enthusiast himself!

Cool off durinf your summer holiday in Kaiserwinkl in the nearby Walchsee, which entices all beach babes and water lovers into the cool water with pleasant tempeartures of up to 24°C. The Hödenauersee, located 7km away, is perfect for water skiing. Or enjoy relaxed sunny days in the adventure forest swimming pool Kössen (12km) or in the Niedendorf forest swimming pool, which is just 5km away from the Rothenhof. In any case, we guarantee happy swimming fun for the whole family. Those who like action and excitement, such definitely take part in a rafting or canyoning tour on the Tyrolean Ache.
